Grown, raised and made with love, care and compassion.

Ferme Louis is all about closing the gap; getting our food supply closer to the earth and closer to the people.

The land is named for Louis Stephen Godin, Alexis’ French-Canadian grandfather. He was an unflagging man who poured all of his energy into making ends meet for his family. He worked hard for his family, and this is our promise to work hard for yours.

On our farm, we pour all of our energy into creating a sustainable food system; one where all the pieces are consistently within the cycle from beginning to end and back around the horn. In concert with our sister business, Cork and Rind, we strive to generate little landfill waste, serve food that is grown as closely as possible, compost, recycle or re-use every piece of material we can, use sustainable agricultural practices that result in not just better quality food but better quality soil, and contribute back to our local economy by supporting local Maine businesses.

On the land, we practice ‘organic-adjacent’ agriculture. What does that mean? We use all organic certified amendments (think and pest control and fertilizer), grow cover crops that give back to our natural ecosystem, and do our best to use as few plastic products as we possibly can.

What’s in a name?

What do we offer?

We pour our hearts into everything we do, and we think you’ll see the difference.

  • Vegetables

We grow a wide range of vegetables and herbs, from the basics like cucumbers and tomatoes to specialty crops like endive and radicchio.

  • Fruit

We grow a variety of early, mid, and late season fruit, including raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, rhubarb and apples.

  • Free Range Eggs

Our flock of hens (and our very handsom Roo, Sirius, pictured above) have the freedom to range about the farm year round. They lay white, brown, and green-blue eggs with the most beautiful golden yolks you’ve ever had.

  • Pickles & Jams

Crafted by our partners at Alice & Lulu’s in their Carrabassett Valley kitchen, our pickles & jams are the top of the crop.

  • Compost
